Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY)
Launched on = 25 December 2000
First Introduced in = Rajasthan
Prime Minister = Atal Bihari Vajpayee
9th Five Year Plan
Aim = Providing food grains to the poorest of the poor
First Provide = 25 kg per month
Now = 35 Kg of food grains per month
Increased to 35 kg per month = 1 April 2002
Colour of Antyodaya Ration Card = Yellow
Antyodaya Ration Cards are issued to
a. All primitive tribal groups
b. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes
c. Windows
d. Families headed by windows
e. Agricultural labours (only eligible persons)
f. Senior Citizens (Who have no regular means of subsistence)
g. Terminally ill and physically handicapped persons
AAY was implemented by = Department of Food and civil Supplies
AAY card issuing is the responsibility of State Government
Integrated Child Development Service (ICDS)
Launched on = 2 October 1975 (106th birth anniversary of Gandhiji)
Prime Minister = Indira Gandhi
5th Five Year Plan
Aim = Provide Food,preschool education,Growth,Nutrition and healthcare to children under 6 years of age and their mothers
Services are provided from = Anganwadi
Children below 3 years = 300 Calories and 8-10 gms of Protein
3-6 years = 300 Calories and 8-10 gms of Protein
Severely malnourished Children = 600 Calories and 16-20 gms of Protein
